Rev. Andrea Christensen

The Reverend Andrea Christensen serves as Rector of St. Timothy’s. Andrea is a compassionate and energetic leader who has been involved in parish ministry, administration and management for over sixteen years. She has a deep passion and love for serving Christ and His Church.

Andrea was born in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. She moved with her family first to Agincourt, where she attended Terry Fox Public School from grades one through six.Andrea’s family then moved to Stittsville (Ottawa West) mid-way through her sixth grade year.

Andrea has a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Hons.) with a major in Sociology and minor in Religion from Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec where she first discerned her call to ordained ministry.
Soon after graduating, she began a three year Master of Divinity at Wycliffe College, University of Toronto. In 2001, Andrea was ordained to the priesthood and began her ministry and work as an Assistant Curate at St. Matthew’s in the Glebe, in the Diocese of Ottawa. Three years later she followed a call to the Parish of Fitzroy Harbour where she became Rector of the two-point parish for nearly four years.

At St. Hilda’s, in the Diocese of Toronto, Andrea held a two-fold position as Associate Priest as well as Assistant Executive Director of a Retirement and Assisted Living Facility where she managed several departments and off-site properties for five years.

Andrea then followed a call to Christ Church Deer Park where she served both as an Associate and then as Interim Priest-in-Charge for three years.

Andrea is passionate about building disciples, stewardship and discernment of gifts. She is blessed to serve a people who love Christ and are passionate about sharing the good news of the gospel!

Andrea is married to Ben, an IT business owner, former triathlete and amateur sommelier. Both Andrea and Ben adore hikes, cooking and picnics in the park with their 5-year-old son, David. Ben and David are members of the St. Timothy’s worshiping community.


Pastorial Associate For Family Ministries

Elaine Vanderwerf joins St. Timothy’s as the Family Ministries Lay Pastoral Associate. She has an MDiv in Youth and Family Ministry from Tyndale Seminary and many years of experience in ministry with children and youth. She has served at Ontario Pioneer Camp, Thornhill Presbyterian Church, Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship, Spring Garden Baptist Church, Peoples Christian Academy and Unionville Alliance Church. Elaine loves reading books and watching movies, especially science fiction and fantasy. She plays piano, guitar and mandolin: she also paints, draws and writes stories, poems and songs. Elaine is the proud “pet mom” to Colin the dog and Kayla the cat.


Rev. Kathy Buligan

Rev. Kathy Buligan was ordained as a permanent deacon at and for St. Timothy’s on May 30, 2010. Her diaconal ministry focuses on volunteering with Friends of the Rouge, a local environmental protection and advocacy group, chairing the St. Timothy’s Outreach Committee and coordinating the St. Timothy’s Wednesday Breakfast Program and our participation in the Out of the Cold Program. Kathy is a retired educator, with a 31-year career as a secondary school teacher (geography, biology, chemistry) and as a vice-principal. She holds a B.A. from York, an M.Ed from OISE, University of Toronto, and an M.Rel from Wycliffe College, University of Toronto, and is pursuing her doctorate in the Biblical department (Old Testament major) at Wycliffe. She is currently the International Altruistic Chair of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honourary organization for women educators. She is also the president-elect of her local chapter. Kathy is married to Serge, a retired IT implementation coordinator, and now an amateur chef and guitar maker and an alpine ski race coach. Both Kathy and Serge love to ski, golf, hike, garden and travel.


Rev. Johanna Pak

Johanna Pak, a native of Hong Kong, has made Canada her home for many years. Baptized as a Roman Catholic, she was involved in many denominations before finding a home in the Anglican Church. Johanna recently completed a Master of Divinity degree at Trinity College at the University of Toronto, and has served different churches as an intern, including St.-Stephen-in-the-Fields, the Cathedral Church of St. James, Church of the Nativity, and St. Jude’s, Wexford. She was a parishioner at St Bartholomew’s, Regent Park, where she was a dedicated member of the Servers’ Guild and was involved in several community support and outreach ministries.

Johanna holds degrees in Economics and Management from institutions in England and Scotland and was a licensed paramedic in Ontario. Johanna worked as a Clinical Research professional prior to pursuing her M.Div. Outside of work, Johanna enjoys photography, cooking, exercising, and playing the piano and various stringed instruments.


Director of Music and Organist

Jonathan Kay is Director of Music at St. Timothy’s. After serving as a choir member and sub-organist since 2008, he moved into his current role in late 2014. He leads musical worship at St. Timothy’s by conducting the mixed-voice SATB choir, selecting music for the choir and congregation, and by playing the pipe organ and piano during worship services. A native of Nova Scotia, Jonathan joined his first church choir at age 6 and started playing the organ shortly afterwards. While a student at the Anglican-founded University of King’s College in Halifax, Jonathan joined the choir of the Cathedral Church of All Saints. He served as Cathedral sub-organist under three successive music directors and was interim Cathedral organist during the several-month periods between their various appointments. Jonathan also served as parish organist and choir director of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Yarmouth, N.S. His spouse Peg Cassidy Kay and daughter Alex are active members of the St. Timothy’s congregation.

Rev. Ron Scott

Rev. Ron Scott is an honourary assistant at St. Timothy’s. He was appointed an Honorary Assistant in September 2011, following his recent retirement after 36 years of full-time ordained ministry (almost entirely in the Diocese of Toronto). His most recent incumbency was at St. Margaret-in-the-Pines, during which time he also served as Regional Dean of Scarborough (2006-2010). At St Timothy’s, he hopes to assist in the areas of liturgy and pastoral care. Prior to ordained ministry, he majored in Classics (B.A., S.U.N.Y. at Albany; M.A. at Queen’s; Ph.D. work up to thesis stage at McMaster). His interests include reading, travel and music. (He served as an Organist/Choirmaster in his much younger years!) Father Ron is married to Jocelyn, and they have an adult son and daughter.
