We Celebrate Earth Day this Sunday:  Earth Day (April 22) is an occasion to affirm our relationship with God’s creation, and our responsibility to care for the earth and its natural resources.  This Sunday, Easter 2, we will honour our Island Home with a special moment of observation in our liturgy!

The Death of Pope Francis:  On behalf of our St. Timothy’s Church Community, I extend condolences to our Roman Catholic siblings on the news of the death of Pope Francis.  Pope Francis was a man of deep humility.  He set an example for all Christians in his championing of “the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.” (Psalm 140:12)

Pope Francis’ actions toward reconciliation resonated deeply with the Anglican Church of Canada and in our relationship with our Indigenous brothers and sisters.  May this spirit of reconciliation abide with the church wherever there is prejudice, contempt, and conflict, and may it lead to transformative change.  

May God give us grace to put aside our many differences and divisions, and help us to live together in godly union and concord- united in one holy bond of truth and peace, of faith and charity. In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.  

As we give thanks for his ministry in this Easter Week, we rejoice in the hope of the resurrection.
